Membership

We are excited to be offering a variety of activities and events over the course of the year. These events will include socials that engage discussion and camaraderie between BME students, faculty, and industrial partners that will help foster an active biomedical community at Michigan Tech. We are also developing an outreach program with local schools to engage young individuals in science and engineering disciplines. We are always excited to bring new energy into our organization.

Successful BMES activities have included:

Plant trips to Beckman Coulter, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Pioneer Surgical

Barbecues, Snowshoeing, Pumpkin Carving

Dog-walking at the Humane Society, CPR Certification

Guest Lectures from Professors

While this group focuses on Biomedical Engineering, membership is open to any MTU student, regardless of major.

To join MTU's BMES chapter, you can email our Secretary, Mary (mcczysen@mtu.edu) or our list (bmes@mtu.edu) to be added to our membership email list. You are encouraged to attend our events and socials, which will be listed under the calender of events. We ask interested participants in BMES to commit to membership by Friday of the first week of second semester by filling out our membership form and returning the form with $5 dues to Mary.
