NIH R21 grant awarded for development of hydrogel to counteract inflammation-induced neural injury

Dr. Ryan Gilbert received an R21 grant to develop a hydrogel blend to counteract inflammation-induced neural injury following spinal cord injury.  The R21 grant is from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) for the period of 5/15/09-4/30/11.  The R21 will fund collaborative research involving Dr. Phillip Popovich at The Ohio State University.
